Happy 2011

WOW! We made it into 2011! We leave 2010 with good feelings, we worked hard and achieved a lot. And it looks like that will go on for a while longer. As the release of Joomla! 1.6 is finally near, we've spend some time on rethinking this site and carefully are working on a new template. If all goes well you should see some changes soon.

Of course we are also still waiting impatiently for the 0.48.1 release of Inkscape, which should bring some relief for some inconveniences that were introduced with the upgrade from 0.47 to 0.48. I have followed the developers mailing list and it seems that they have fixed most of the regression items and a few annoying bugs - so our lives should soon become easier again.

I am currently working on a very simple tutorial which explains how to achieve country style shading with Inkscape. I hope to have that up in a day or two. As mentioned before we are also working on cutting files. The manufacturer of the personal cutter we've bought have cleaned up their act, and the accompanying software now can cut SVG files. It cuts them in a funny way - but it cuts. So more of that soon too.

Of course suggestions for new tutorials are still welcome and we'll do our best to meet your requests.

Cheers, Syllie.

We are very proud that the Spiro Swirls Tutorial for Inkscape has gained such popularity.

Today, 28 January 2012,  over 140,000 viewers have visited this page and our statistics show that it is still the most popular tutorial on this site. This tutorial is suitable for Inkscape version 0.47 and 0.48.

Thank you all for viewing and providing feedback. We do our best to make this site the best beginner resource site for Inkscape.
