Hi All!

I finally seem to have some time again to pick up work on Very Simple Designs. Over the past weekend I've cleaned up some styling and layout problems with the site, and I am looking into a slightly different layout. I have split the menu into a clear "Tutorials" and "Freebies" section - and new to the Freebies are "Cutting Files".

As some of you may remember we bought an eCraft personal cutter a while ago - and thus far the manufacturer has not been able to deliver their "Pro" software in a "Pro" status. And at last they agreed to allow other software developers of cutting software to step in and provide an alternative. Enter "Make-The-Cut" (MTC) and SCAL. The developer of MTC has his beta version out already and brought my cutter back to live! I tested some of the older designs - the scrolls that I created for the Photoshop Brushes - and they cut beautifully - so I thought I'd share them with you. The files are released under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 Australia license - so go ahead and share them with your friends.

Valentines Day is upcoming - and if you have not yet seen the valentine tutorials on this site - feel free to check them out. The Valentine wallpaper is also available for download as wallpaper freebie. Inkscape 0.48.1 - the bug fix release is finally ready and should be available for download in the next week - so grab that version as some nasty bugs were squashed .

And of course check back often - 2 new tutorials that I promised some time ago will finally be available, one is related to "Country Prim Shading" and as bonus I have created quite some country shading filters for Inkscape for you guys.  Soon to be released :)

I have just added the stencil I made for the Kokeshi Doll T-shirt to the cutting files.
