Upcoming features

Hi Folks,

From our statistics we see that this site gets quite a few visitors, we receive nice e-mails and from the comments on our tutorials it seems that what we offer is appreciated. We like that a lot and we hope that this site will continu to grow. We do our best to update the content frequently and offer new tutorials and other resources on almost a daily basis.

We have been a bit quiet for the last few days, but that does not mean we are lazing about. Some of you may have noticed that the menu structure has changed, we made a submenu where we conveniently grouped links to all our resources. What is not visible yet, but hopefully will be added in the next few days is access to our new forums. We want to offer a place to exchange ideas, provide help with applications such as Inkscape, allow requests for tutorials and to start a dialog on what other things we could do. All with the hope to start a like minded community. It will most likely be small and remain small, but it adds an extra dimension and we hope that those that are interested will join and participate.

In the mean time we are working on a few tutorials that were requested/suggested through e-mail and twitter:

  1. Workflow for creating vector brushes in Inkscape for use in Photoshop and GIMP
  2. Create stationary in Inkscape using seamless patterns

These tutorials should be available shortly. Please follow us on Twitter to stay updated. I promise it is a low spam channel.

Cheers,

Syllie

Inkscape Wallpaper Tutorial Series

Wednesday, 27 January 2010 20:23
Through the Inkscape forum we were asked for a tutorial on abstract design for use in wallpapers, website banners and such. Inkscape provides an extensive toolset to create abstract effects with great ease, but using all of them in a single tutorial would be overkill. So we decided to write a series of tutorials on this subject. The first tutorial in this Abstract Wallpaper series is up already and the next will follow in a few days. Right now we have planned 3 tutorials for this series already - and it may become more. Keep an eye out on our tutorial section.

Vector Illustrations available for free download

Tuesday, 29 December 2009 10:25

As we continue to make new content available on almost a daily basis, we decided to start a download section for our vector illustrations too.

All vector graphics we used in our tutorials are available in png, eps and svg formats. The png format files are at 300dpi which guarantees printable quality.

Grab the illustrations you'll like as we offer them free for personal use. Please read our TOU and contact us if you want to use them commercially.
