Hi
I am Jo I live in Perth West Australia, I am a support worker assisting people with aspects of daily living within their homes.
I also have a website Cutting edge Craft where I sell an amazing cutting machine called the Black Cat Cutter mainly to craft/hobbyists to make cards ,scrapbooking elements, vinyl cuts etc. We use inkscape in conjunction with our machines for designing and I have found your tutorials very informative.
I am looking forward to the tute on making stencils.

Cheers
Jo

Hi Jo, thanks for introducing yourself. I am real glad the tutorials are helping with inkscape. I believe inkscape is perfectly suited to making things on a cutting machine. I know there are quite a few people doing this, and a lot of them are using inkscape. I'll see if I can nudge Syllie into completing some more tutorials for just such a purpose :D

Hi Jo,

The tutorial I am currently writing is specifically targeted at how to make colour separations in Inkscape such that stencils for screen printing can easily be created.

I received a few requests for cutting tutorials, and I know that cutters are used for (amongst other things) stencils and stamps. I will have a look at the specifics and see how I can either write custom tutorials for this field, or include extra pointers in the ones I create now. Things progress a bit slow at the moment - but it is still progressing :)

Welcome to the forum and please let me know if there are specific things that need explaining in Inkscape.

Cheers,
Syllie

Hi Syllie
Thanks for the welcome.
Look forward to the colour separations tutorial and any others, even if they are not suitable for cutting it is fun to see what you can do in inkscape. I have just aquired a copy of photoshop 7 so am trying to learn a little about that as well.

cheers
jo

Hi Jo,

Sorry for the slow approval, not too busy forums means that they often are overlooked.

As I have written in some blog posts - I try to use open source software mainly nowadays. There are many sites that provide excellent resources for Photoshop, and whilst I do not want to exclude it totally - I think that the PS content on this site will be quite limited (brushes, stock, patterns). However, I accepted a job where the Adobe suite is the main design toolkit - so it may change.

The tutorial will be posted this week - so please return for another visit.

Cheers,
Syllie
