I figured that I would post some of the art that I am designing for my graphic design class and give you all a taste of my artistic flavor, so to speak. This is my first graphic design class and I have never taken an art class, so what I have to offer isn't exactly amazing, but I hope you like it.

The following was the results of our first project which was to redesign a book cover to show better principles of design. I chose the book 1984 by George Orwell.

Hi NoxPointe,

Welcome back!

From these 3 bookcovers I like the 2nd one best. The gigantic eye on the screen really gives the idea of "big brother is watching you" - especially because a screen is for display and not for recording - so it creates the feeling of unease.

I like the artistic impression for cover 1 too, and you chose a good way to show off the 1984 buzzwords.

The last cover seems to express how things currently are in many of our modern cities. I originally come from the Netherlands, and most shopping streets have turned into public locations where every move is watched. They are even testing person identification through matching character features against a database. These systems are in place in areas such as soccer stadia.

Thanks for sharing!
Syllie

Very cool mate! I like the first one best. I read a shit load of books and I have to say that is very reminiscent of a lot of cover styles I have seen. It's nice and crisp with an a great example of using blended layers and opacity. I also love how you made the text just readable like a kind of hidden message.

The second one kind of reminds of the books I read from the 1940's, which is perfect since I believe this was written in 1949 (google is my friend...lol). So perhaps for the original book the second one would have been more appropriate. But for a republish and for my own tastes I love the first one.

Well done mate, I think you are off to a brilliant start! Thanks a lot for sharing too, i love checking out what others make!

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it. As this is my first foray into the visual medium, I really appreciate getting a feel for how other people perceive what I do.
